Top 10 Things Every Auto Insurance Policy Should Have

A Reasonable Deductible

A deductible is the amount you pay out of your own pocket in the event of an accident or other type of vehicular incident. The average driver has an auto policy with a $500 deductible with higher deductibles typically landing around $1,000. A higher deductible typically equals a lower monthly premium.

A deductible should be in accordance with what you can afford. If you can afford more money throughout the month, a lower deductible may be for you. If you are on a budget and need inexpensive insurance, a higher deductible could be best for you. If you choose a higher deductible make sure to have the money saved or the ability to pay in the event of an accident.
