Top 10 States that Pay the Most in Taxes

Connecticut

Connecticut rests on the southern tip of New England, a cluster of states on the east coast. Residents enjoy access to fresh seafood and scenic landscapes, but it comes at a price: $9,099 a year per resident.

Water-friendly activities are popular in Connecticut. Folks fish, boat, ski, and swim in the salty ocean water. After a few hours at the beach, there’s still plenty of time for a trip to local museums, amusement parks, or the zoo. The foliage comes alive in the fall, which makes it an ideal time to stroll through one of the state’s many dog-friendly parks or take a scenic drive to one of the lighthouses.
