Top 10 States that Pay the Most in Taxes

Iowa

Iowa sits comfortably in the American Heartland. Folks who reside in this hilly, farm-friendly state have an annual tax liability of $8,788, which is the 9th highest rate in the country.

More than half of the land in Iowa is dedicated to crop growing, but the locals still find fun ways to pass the time. The state holds different fairs and festivals throughout the year. There are racetracks and zoos, as well as museums, restaurants, and shopping centers. The changing seasons of Iowa make for a beautiful hike nearly any time of year in one of the local parks, weather permitting.
