If you are not scared of heights, it may be important for you to know that the capital city of New Mexico is the highest in the United States at approximately 7,000 feet above sea level. This state has very spicy food, and the popular show Breaking Bad was set in this state.

During the Christmas season, you’ll find paper lanterns floating around the state. There is also a hot balloon festival in New Mexico that is like something you have never seen before. The people who live here enjoy a state tax rate of $5,822 per year.
