This books was released way back in 2004 and at first, didn’t seem to be headed toward the best-selling list. During the first three years, it barely sold over 50,000 copies, but then in 2008, sales jumped to over 200,000. The author, Sarah Young, is said to spend her time praying and listening – and rarely does interviews.
Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence is a devotional book written from Jesus’ point of view, but started as Young’s journal, which changed from monologue to dialogue. This religion-based book is not only intriguing, but takes readers through different points of view they may have never imagined as well as providing scripture and devotions different from other religious material. The book sold close to 800,000 copies during the course of the year in 2014.
