Athletes have been kicked, thrown off bulls, stepped on by 800 pound animals, and even killed in this sport. This isn’t a tame animal they are trying to ride. Neither is it a horse in need of a good training session.
These animals have the ultimate goal of ridding themselves of the weight on their backs. And don’t think they are happy about it either. Once the rider is thrown, even if they are uninjured by the toss, there is every potential to get stepped on or kicked. If you do manage to stay on long enough, the potential for whiplash and injuries to the neck and/or back are just some of the dangers of the sport, but are also the most thrilling for fans and for those who engage in this sport.
