Yet another school district that was created from a number of smaller districts, Palo Alto Unified School District encompasses 19 different schools and over 12,000 students. Lauded by Niche as the third-ranking district in California, 87 percent of all students test highly in math and reading. This puts them at the forefront of California’s very best test scores.
In Palo Alto, administrative policies and student wellness also score highly against national averages. Considering that the average student is afforded over $16,000 of the yearly budget, this is not surprising. Most of the budget is spent on instruction rather than administrative costs.
