Receiving Blankets
If there is one item you’ll use more than anything else besides diapers, it is the receiving blanket. You may get a few of these at your baby shower, but it will not be enough. You will probably need stacks and stacks of receiving blankets. When choosing the fabric for the blankets, cotton is comfortable, and believed to be safer for your baby.
Receiving blankets can be used for hundreds of things. For example, if you need to lay your baby down on a surface away from home, you’ll have a clean blanket to use. If your baby gets chilly while in the car or anywhere else, you can cover them up with a receiving blanket. These versatile little blankets can also be used to protect your shoulder while you are burping your baby, or for wiping up messes.
