Most states won’t allow an insurer to force you to go to a particular shop for repairs. Getting quotes from a local shop you trust is also in your best interest. If they are required to pay on the claim, as long as the repair cost is the same as other shops, you should be able to use any shop you choose.
You want to go to a shop that will do the job right. Don’t let the other driver’s insurer try to force you to a shop you do not trust to work on your car.
