Don’t Settle Too Quickly
Some adjusters are going to throw you a figure which seems great. But, a simple search online for comparable claim offers might prove their offer to be extremely low. This is why you never want to jump in and accept a settlement.
Sit back on it for a few days. Take your time to read it, understand it, and to understand what you relinquish in the event you do accept it. They can’t force you to sign the settlement the day it is written. So, if you aren’t 100% sold, don’t sign; and, if needed, consider speaking to a lawyer to help you determine if it is a fair value.
