Keep Your Identification Handy
Because there have been issues with credit card theft, merchants might ask for your identification when you use your card. Be prepared and always have your state issued I.D. card with your photo on it. You also need to sign your credit card.
Though not all merchants ask for this extra step of verification, they can refuse service if you don’t have identification when you try to use your credit card. They may look at the name on both items as well as the signature. Make sure you sign your name the same way on both items to avoid any issues.
