10 Safest Places to Run in New York City

The Greenbelt

The Greenbelt is considered the last great untouched forest in the city, on Staten Island. This area is perfect for a fall season run with the bold changing colors and crisp cool air. Even in the summer these forests are gorgeous. With a 16-acre lake and a myriad of trees you may think you left the city completely.

This area of New York City offers a relaxing view of oak, maple, and beech trees as well as beautiful ponds set in a safe park area that is ideal for running. Whether running or just visiting, everyone should visit The Greenbelt at least once.
