10 Safest Places to Run in New York City

Mill Pond Park

Take a nice run along the banks of the Harlem River just blocks south of Yankee Stadium, close to the Major Deegan Expressway. This 15 acres of City Park has an American Disability Association accessible esplanade perfect for runners and jogging. You will have views of the Harlem River waterfront and west Harlem as you take your run around this park.

Mill Pond Park also offers Deco Turf tennis courts. The Deco Turf is the same court type used in the Olympic Games and the U.S. Open, so you can practice just like some of the most tried and true athletes in the world when you’re done jogging or as a change of pace. There are sand areas for play and picnic areas as well as a shaded outdoor classroom area.
