10 Most Challenging Hiking Trails in the United States

Paintbrush Canyon

This trail is located in the Grand Teton National Park loop in Wyoming and is a total distance of 19 miles. Paintbrush Canyon is part of the Teton Crest Trail, which spans the Teton Range, Wyoming Highway 22 and String Lake.

During this hike, you will encounter various elevation changes along the way, with the highest point of the hike being at 8,000 feet above ground. This trail is a favorite of ultra marathoners, which means it is highly likely you will get passed by other outdoor enthusiasts along the way who are also taking on this challenging course.
