Many people would be shocked to discover that there are some weird and also humorous passages in the Old Testament. The story of Ehud and the king of Moab is one such passage. While assassination is not funny, the murder of the fat king is very theatrical and humorous.
God sent Ehud to kill Eglon, the king of Moab. Eglon is a morbidly obese king, apparently living well in his kingdom. Ehud’s sword sank into fat so deep that the handle disappeared and pierced Eglon’s bowels emptying them. He could not draw his blade back out of the king so he simply went out of the chamber and locked the door behind him.
