As an oilfield state itself, gas prices in select areas are below $2, while other states still have $3 gas per gallon prices. In key cities such as Shreveport, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans, gas prices are well under the national average. A trip to Louisiana will not be cost prohibitive to vacationers who prefer to drive.
