The Big Bang Theory made CBS the first network to have two series’ reach an audience of that size, the other series being NCIS. Of the top shows with the most viewers, season six placed third in ratings and viewers, being beat out only by NCIS and NBC Sunday Night Football.
The show’s popularity is not only attributed to its humor but for its combination of nerds, a sexy neighbor, and fun science – all in one television show.
