With 32 homicides in 2013, Stockton is one of the top 10 cities in California for shootings and homicides. That number may not be so shocking by itself but when you look at the history of Stockton it appears to have always been a dangerous place and continues to be even in 2015.
In January of 1989, before anyone had ever heard of Columbine, there was a shooting at Cleveland Elementary School in Stockton. In three minutes, five children were dead and 30 teachers and students were injured. In March of 2015 there was a drive by shooting at a grocery store in Stockton that left three people dead and four wounded.
