You might not think you’re a fan of prison movies, but Shawshank Redemption is one set apart through the years as one of the greatest. There are a number of themes present in the film such as the importance of loyalty and friendship and the determination of making wrongs into rights.
This movie really goes to show what an innocent man will do to prove his innocence in jail. Not only is it a heartwarming account of the innocent character who was framed for his wife’s murder, but also of the events which make up being imprisoned, the corruption, and the politics which are often forgotten but part of jail time. Further, it shows that although people have may done bad things in their past, it does not define the person they are for the rest of their lives.
