RAM stands for random access memory. In computing, ram refers to the physical hardware used to store programs. This form of memory is volatile, meaning that data is lost if the power supply is interrupted in any way. Today, random access memory is made up of integrated circuits (ICs)
The amount of memory in a computer affects the overall performance of the machine. One way of increasing a computer processing power is to increase the amount of RAM. The ram fetches data from the hard disk.
