10 Best States for Retirees

Virginia

If you are a history buff, and like U.S. history in any way, this is the place to go as a retiree. The third lowest violent crime rate in the country and eighth lowest property crime rate, also make it a relatively safe area for people to live once they retire.

With a health care system that is highly ranked, there are also many historical sites to see, as well as great outdoor scenic sites. Weather in the state is also relatively mild, the entire year round, and winters are not as bad as it is in some of the neighboring states.
