Gone Girl
This book, like many other popular books, was also adapted into a highly popular film and in 2014, nearly 965,000 paper back copies were sold. Gone Girl is about a couple, where the wife goes missing on the date of the fifth wedding anniversary. Her husband, Nick, portrays a happy marriage but his story begins to fall apart under public scrutiny and police interrogation.
This leads to Nick becoming the prime suspect in the investigation of his missing wife, and eventually leads to police arresting him for his wife’s murder. The book has been said to be a journey of character development, with many twists and turns to keep you reading.
