The Fault in Our Stars

This is the sixth novel by author John Green. It follows the story of Augustus, an ex-basketball player and amputee, and Hazel, a cancer patient. Hazel is forced to attend a support group and the two individuals fall in love with each other, despite the fact they know they do not have much time together because of Hazel’s illness. This popular teen book is not only one of determination and persistence, but shows how true love will rule out any outside forces working against it. In addition to selling nearly 2 million copies in paperback, the book was also adapted into a film in 2014, which grossed over $266 million.

With a variety of plot lines, characters, and style of writing, not only were these books some of the most purchased books in 2014, but also some of the most highly downloaded books by individuals who read electronic book formats today. Besides topping out best selling charts, many of these books also went on to become successful at the box office.
