Top 10 Presidential Mistakes Ever Made

Kennedy’s Bay of Pigs Invasion

The Bay of Pigs invasion refers to a failed attempt to attack Cuba that took place in 1961. Kennedy’s link to the event was long-standing; he was informed and agreed on a plan to use exiles to attack their motherland before he even became president. While the idea might have seemed sound in theory, it was doomed to fail before it even began.

What Kennedy should have seen coming was the fact that news of this covert operation quickly spread. After the public realized that the American government was backing the attacks shortly after the first airstrike, he struggled to regain their trust by calling off the second attack. The result was a serious counter-attack that cost hundreds of exiles their lives.
