The Myrtles Plantation
The Myrtles Plantation is another major source of rumors in the United States. It was originally built in 1797 and is said to be haunted. Visitors and residents have been plagued with bad luck while on the premises, having accidents and other sudden emergencies crop up.
There have been dozens of deaths at this location over time. Some occurred due to mysterious illness, while others were attributed to poisoning and murder. Not all of the haunting has been violent, though; jewelry has disappeared, furniture has moved by itself, and people have appeared and disappeared in photographs taken by visitors. Despite all of the strange happenings, it’s also one of America’s most beautiful historic properties.
