Don’t Carry Balances

If you can help it, pay your balances in full each month rather than carrying them month to month. Show the reporting agencies you are making an effort to pay everything, and avoid default as much as possible.

Even if you don’t spend much, making more than the minimum, and carrying as little (or no ) balance over each month, can also help in increasing the score after a bankruptcy proceeding. Plus, you can keep your debt manageable if you aren’t adding on tons of interest by carrying a balance.
