Keep Copies and Records
You have written communications as well as recordings. But, these things can easily get lost. Make sure you have copies of everything regarding the debt.
You want to keep and file everything for your records. The more you have, the more you are protecting yourself if things get ugly. It is not your word versus theirs; rather, you have physical proof of everything said, and everything which has been agreed upon.
