Border Collies were traditionally used on farmlands for leading and gathering herds of sheep. Due to their heedful origins, they are known to be very intuitive, and can even sense how their owner is feeling and what their next move may be.
This breed is best for adults who spend an appropriate amount of time at home, due to their critical need for human interaction. They can be great family dogs, but because of their tendency to interpret play noises as calls for herding abilities, this breed of dogs can become snippy toward children.
