10 Most Dangerous Cities in California

Oroville

Nicknamed the “City of Gold” and formerly called Ophir City, Oroville is home to the Oroville Dam, named one of the 20 largest dams in the world, the largest earth-filled dam in the U.S., and the tallest dam in the country. As the county seat of Butte County, the city has almost 15,000 inhabitants, making the total violent crime rate of 14.81 exceedingly high.

The danger in this city stems from the high rate of violent crimes, with 218 in one year, and over 1,000 property crime incidences. These numbers are both quite high for a city with a population of fewer than 15,000 people.
